Best Practices

Choosing Response Types

  • Match the Data: Use response types that match the data you need
  • User Experience: Choose types that are easy to use on mobile
  • Data Quality: Use constrained types (choice, number) when possible
  • Documentation: Use media types for visual evidence

Response Type Organization

  • Consistent Types: Use the same response types for similar questions
  • Standard Options: Create standard option sets for common choices
  • Clear Labels: Use clear, descriptive option labels
  • Action Configuration: Configure actions appropriately for each option

Common Questions

Can I create custom response types?

Currently, Scan2Evolve uses predefined response types. Contact support if you need custom response type capabilities.

Can I change a response type after creating a question?

Yes, but changing response types may affect existing inspection data. Review the impact before making changes.

How do I add units to number responses?

When configuring a number response type, you can select or create units. Units are organization-wide and can be reused.

Can response options trigger multiple actions?

Yes! Response options can trigger work requests, flags, and incidents simultaneously based on configuration.
