Conducting inspections on mobile

Starting an inspection

#### Method 1: Using QR Code Scanner

Step 1: Open Scan2Evolve on mobile - Open your mobile browser - Navigate to Scan2Evolve URL - Sign in to your account

Step 2: Start inspection - Tap Start Inspection button - Tap Scan QR Code button - Allow camera access when prompted

Step 3: Scan QR code - Point your camera at the asset's QR code - Hold steady until QR code is recognized - Asset information loads automatically

Step 4: Fill out inspection - Answer questions using mobile-optimized forms - Take photos using device camera - Use GPS to capture location - Auto-save occurs as you work

Step 5: Complete inspection - Review all answers - Tap Complete Inspection button - Inspection is submitted

#### Method 2: From Asset List

Step 1: Open Start Inspection - Tap Start Inspection button - Browse asset list - (Optional) Filter by site or asset type - (Optional) Search for specific asset

Step 2: Select asset - Tap on an asset name - Inspection form opens

Step 3: Fill out inspection - Answer questions - Take photos - Add notes - Auto-save occurs as you work

Step 4: Complete inspection - Tap Complete Inspection button - Inspection is submitted

2. Filter by "Site: Main Factory"
3. Tap on "Pump-001" asset
4. Inspection form opens

Answering questions on mobile

#### Text questions

Step 1: Type your answer - Tap on the text field - Type your answer using mobile keyboard - Required questions are marked with an asterisk (*)

Question: "What is the condition of the pump?" *
Answer: "Good condition, no issues observed"

#### Number questions

Step 1: Enter numeric value - Tap on the number field - Enter a numeric value using mobile keyboard - Select a unit (if required) from the dropdown

Example:

Question: "What is the operating pressure?"
Answer: "150"
Unit: "PSI" (selected from dropdown)

#### Multi-choice questions

Step 1: Select an option - Tap on an option - Options may have icons indicating actions - Some options may require photos or notes

Example:

Question: "What is the status of the pump?"
Options:
  ✓ Good (no action)
  ⚠ Needs Repair (creates work request, requires photo, requires note)
  🚩 Safety Issue (raises flag, severity: HIGH)
  🚨 Critical Failure (triggers incident, severity: CRITICAL)

#### Photo questions

Step 1: Take photo - Tap Take Photo button on a question - Allow camera access if prompted - Camera view opens

Step 2: Capture photo - Point camera at subject - Tap capture button to take photo - Photo is attached to answer

Step 3: Annotate photo (optional) - Tap Annotate button - Draw on photo to highlight areas - Save annotation

Steps:
  1. Tap "Take Photo" button
  2. Allow camera access
  3. Point camera at pump
  4. Tap capture button
  5. Photo is attached to answer
  6. (Optional) Tap "Annotate" button

#### Location questions

Step 1: Get location - Tap Get Location button - Allow location access if prompted - GPS coordinates are captured automatically

Answer: "Latitude: 37.7749, Longitude: -122.4194" (captured automatically)

QR code scanning on mobile

Scanning QR codes

Step 1: Open QR scanner - Tap Start Inspection button - Tap Scan QR Code button - Allow camera access when prompted - Camera view opens

Step 2: Scan QR code - Point your camera at the asset's QR code - Hold steady until QR code is recognized - Asset information loads automatically

Step 3: Start inspection - Inspection form opens for the scanned asset - Fill out inspection questions - Complete and submit inspection

1. Tap "Start Inspection" button
2. Tap "Scan QR Code" button
3. Allow camera access
4. Point camera at QR code on pump
5. QR code is scanned automatically
6. Asset "Pump-001" is loaded

Direct QR code URL

Step 1: Scan QR code with phone camera - Open your phone's camera app - Point camera at the asset's QR code - Tap on the QR code notification - Browser opens with QR code URL

Step 2: Asset page loads - Asset information is displayed - Available inspection templates are shown - Tap on a template to start inspection

Troubleshooting QR code scanning

Issue: QR code not scanned - Solution: Ensure good lighting - Solution: Clean QR code label - Solution: Move closer or farther from QR code - Solution: Try different angle - Solution: Check QR code is not damaged

Issue: Camera access denied - Solution: Allow camera access in browser settings - Solution: Check browser permissions - Solution: Check device camera permissions - Solution: Use a different browser

Issue: Asset not found - Solution: Verify QR code is correct - Solution: Check asset exists in system - Solution: Contact administrator

Photo capture on mobile

Taking photos

Step 1: Take photo - Tap Take Photo button on a question - Allow camera access if prompted - Camera view opens

Step 2: Capture photo - Point camera at subject - Tap capture button to take photo - Photo is attached to answer

Step 3: Review photo - Review photo before attaching - Retake photo if needed - Confirm photo attachment

Offline mode

Starting inspections offline

Step 1: Start inspection offline - Start inspection when offline - Answers are saved locally - Photos are stored locally - Auto-save occurs as you work

Step 2: Sync when online - When internet connection is restored - Answers are automatically synced - Photos are uploaded - Inspection is submitted

Example:

1. Start inspection while offline
2. Fill out inspection form
3. Take photos
4. Answers are saved locally
5. Internet connection is restored
6. Answers are automatically synced
7. Photos are uploaded

Viewing offline inspections

Step 1: View offline inspections - Go to Inspections page - View inspections saved locally - Inspections are marked as "Offline"
